Red Bull Music Academy Radio and Major Lazer have confirmed the line-up for this year’s edition of their yearly Notting Hill Carnival extravaganza at Portobello and Acklam on August 30. Unfortunately all 1,000 free tickets were gone in exactly 49 seconds – but watch this space for more info and images from the event. For all those that did manage to get on the guestlist you will see Mutate Britain madness at the party.
Treatment rooms in action
Treatment rooms have been hard at work… come and join us for the unveiling of this amazing community mural this Wednesday 16th Dec at 7PM. The piece covers the history of the area, the events and most of all the the people.
The Revolution Will Be Ceramicised…..at least under the Westway!! This Wednesday, 16th Dec at 7pm.
Carrie Reichardt aka The Baroness and Miquita Oliver will unveil the UK’s most radical ceramic mural at Mutate Britain’s ‘One Foot Under the Grove’ exhibition. Artists from The Treatment Rooms Collective along side volunteers from the local community have spent the last few weeks making a huge new mural in a previously unused space under the Westway, next to Portobello market.
You are invited to come along and help us celebrate this important new addition of public art to one of London’s most culturally significant neighbourhoods. This mural is made in loving memory of two of our fallen comrades, Evie Doggart and Ed Maiden. We are hoping that members of their families will be present as we unveil plaques for them. We will also have a flash mob punk choir present to sing at the event. Please come along, support our work and see cutting edge craftivism in action.
With thanks Carrie Reichardt aka The Baroness Co-Founder of the Treatment Rooms – The UK’s only ceramic house of resistance. www.carriereichardt.co.uk
